“ October 2025 We visited Lars on a Wednesday night and had an amazing experience! The restaurant was fully booked, so we waited at the bar, where we enjoyed a drink and a bite to eat. The place is beautifully decorated with a fantastic vibe. It was a bit loud at first, but we could still chat and savor our dinner. The service was outstanding, and the food was excellent, however, the only thing that bothered me was that when ordering the seared scallops, two scallops are cut in half horizontally, with each half served on an individual shell. This means you are receiving two scallops in total, not four, despite how they may be presented, priced and described by the waiter. Otherwise, Definitely a must-visit spot at Mermaid Beach—thank you! ”

Highly recommend the burger and any steak! The snapper and capers is divine. Sides, highly recommend the greens and cucumber salad. It can get loud and vibrant, so if you are after a particularly quiet dining experience, this is not the place for you. ”

If you appreciate very palatable food, excellent service and an alluring decor, Lars is undoubtedly a winner! We sporadically decided to go out for lunch on a Saturday in November, we had no reservation, but were lucky to get a table. The hostess was very professional and our steward was so attentive (he made some excellent recommendations). The food was gorgeous, an explosion of flavours. the paired wine was an excellent combination. we had the NYC cheese cake as desert - one word: WOW! ...And I am not quickly impressed... Thank you - keep up the excellent standard Team Lars. We will be back! ”

The food here is consistently outstanding, and it’s clear a lot of care goes into every dish.
